Luis Augusto Mendez Monteiro aka Emejay, was born in Caracas, Venezuela and spent his early childhood immersed in the culture. When he was 5 his family moved to Madeira Island, Portugal. A beautiful tropical island that shaped who Luis ended up becoming. At 18, Luis moved to Cambridge, UK to study Animation and Illustration in the Cambridge School of Arts. since his early memories and the people around him, Luis never wanted to be something other than an artist. The ability to create took over his life and became a crucial part of himself since his first birthday. In his teens Luis learned the art of animating. After having spent years drawing his original characters he finally had a tool to bring them to life. This decided his path for the next couple of years, where he focused his time and effort in improving his animation and storytelling skills.
